Redesigning and enhancing Elderly Well-being: A Case Study on Ripple Healthcare's Journey
At a Glance
Ripple Healthcare, a MedTech start-up born from AIIMS Delhi and IIT Delhi, focuses on creating healthcare solutions for the elderly. Their hero product, a hip belt equipped with a pre-deploying airbag, targets preventing hip fractures resulting from falls. Recognizing the need for an updated online presence, their previous website lacked clarity and modernity, hindering user engagement and effective communication of their mission and products.
Why Re-design?
The existing Ripple Healthcare website lacked features such as product pages, a blog for educational content, and a career section, hindering its effectiveness in supporting the company's mission. Additionally, the site was difficult to navigate, frustrating users and limiting accessibility, particularly for its target audience of elderly and their caregivers.
GOALS
Improve usability, navigation, and responsive design.
Ensure brand consistency throughout the website
Enhance product visibility and provide detailed information.
Introduce a blog for educational content on fall prevention and elderly care
Implement a career section to attract potential employees.
Increase user engagement and strengthen the company's online presence.
User Research
The target audience comprises two primary groups: elderly individuals seeking to maintain their independence and quality of life as they age, and their caregivers who provide support and assistance in their daily lives. Specifically, we aim to reach:
Elderly Individuals
Our target includes elderly individuals seeking practical solutions to enhance their safety and mobility. This group comprises aging adults aged 65 and above, particularly those experiencing mobility issues or concerns about falls. They are looking for reliable products like to help prevent accidents and maintain their independence.
Caregivers
We also target caregivers who play a crucial role in supporting and caring for elderly. These caregivers are family members concerned about the safety and well-being of their aging loved ones. They are actively seeking effective tools to assist in fall prevention and provide peace of mind to both themselves and their elderly members.

PERSONA + EMPATHY MAP
I found creating a persona incredibly valuable as it provided me with a vivid picture of who I was designing for. By delving into the lives of Ramesh Kashyap and Colonel Rajesh Singh, I gained insight into their priorities and concerns. With these personas in mind, I was able to chart out their actions and identify opportunities where I could provide assistance and support.
MEET RAMESH
Ramesh Kashyap, 42, is a branch manager in New Delhi, India, with over 15 years of banking experience. He excels in managing daily operations, ensuring compliance, and driving business growth. Outside of work, Ramesh is a dedicated family man, concerned about his family's safety and well-being. After his elderly mother recently suffered a minor fall, he became particularly vigilant about preventing future injuries.

Design
I have created this style guide to keep everything on the website looking the same and matching the brand identity. When colors are consistent, it helps people recognize and remember the company better. It also makes the website look more professional and trustworthy. This guide helps me ensure that all the design choices fit with the brand, so everything feels connected and easy to understand for our visitors.

WHAT'S NEXT?
This project has evolved alongside my growth as a designer, but there is still much more to explore.
- How can I further simplify navigation to enhance user experience, especially for elderly users?
- What additional educational content would our audience find valuable in the blog?
- How can we better showcase user testimonials and success stories to build trust and credibility?
